That wasn't an argument, that was one huge Glory Song, sung to praise the MT. It may have been sung slightly (or not-so-slightly) off-key, and slightly (or again not-so-slightly) slurred.

A couple of folks may have imbibed and been wearing Oppo-goggles, but that doesn't diminish the impact the MTX has had on mankind.
